Christopher Shaw
Chris is a Professional Engineer with a mix of experience in industry and university
environments. He worked as a fluid dynamics specialist for SDRC and Jaguar Cars in
the UK before moving to the Department of Engineering at the University of
Warwick. On moving to New Zealand, Chris joined the University of Otago where he
developed a number of papers in Product Design. and the Design for Technology
major of the Bachelor of Applied Science degree. On leaving he was Associate
Professor and Head of Department of Design Studies.
With strengths in engineering and design teaching, engineering research, management and governance, Chris has acted as a consultant to a wide range of
industrial companies, universities, local government and national government
organisations.
Outside work, Chris is Chair of the Board of Trustees of Fiordland College, Chair of the Guardians of Lakes Manapouri, Monowai and Te Anau and a Trustee of the Pomona Island Charitable Trust.
